If you’re coming from the Crystal Cove Trail, you’ll be able to enjoy a picturesque walk down to the beachfront restaurant. The stairs might not be super visible from the road, but you can’t miss them once you pass the Crystal Cove Shake Shack heading north.

Since The Beachcomber is tucked away on the beach at the bottom of the bluffs, you might be wondering what the easiest way to access the restaurant is. There is a parking lot on the opposite side of the highway with ample parking. If you’re using GPS, plug in “Los Trancos Parking Lot.” From the parking lot, there is a short paved path that leads you directly to the restaurant. There is also a shuttle that leaves directly from the lot and has benches for those waiting.

If you’re visiting on the weekend, be sure to arrive early as there tends to be a wait. But no problem, you can stroll the beach along the ocean while you wait for a table. Many people even decide to have a full beach day after a meal. There are also historic bungalows you can check out. One has even been made into a museum. You might recognize one of them from the 1988 movie “Beaches.” Some are even available to rent, if you’re looking to spend the night.
