Jenkinson Lake is located in the small mountain town of Pollock Pines. (About an hour from South Lake Tahoe off Highway 50) It’s a small picturesque lake with Emerald green waters, gorgeous Mountain Views, many outdoors activities and without the Tahoe crowds! If you want to camp book well in advance. The campgrounds are booked full every weekend in summer. Looking to rent a kayak or paddle board you can find one rental company on the lake at the second boat launch (link provided) and another across the street from the entrance of the park. This park is with the El Dorado Irrigation District (EID) and not part of the poppy pass. I believe it’s a $15 entrance fee (and $10 for seniors). Come enjoy this little slice of mountain paradise in my hometown fondly known as “Nature’s Wonderland!”
