The KIA holds more than 5,000 fine artworks in its permanent collection; presents touring and collection exhibitions in 10 galleries; and offers four terms of art classes at the Kirk Newman Art School. COSTS Guided Tours: PreK-12 tours are free. College tours are $4 with student ID. Adult tours are $9. Self-guided groups pay only admission, but are asked to schedule their visit ahead of time.

Opening in two parts, this exciting exhibition uses select loans while also highlighting the breadth of the KIA’s permanent collection to illuminate the ways in which Japanese and Japanese American artists have depicted society and their environments, challenged artistic and societal conventions, or innovated long-standing artistic practices and explored new media.
