Kids can climb right up in the locomotive and feel what it is like to be the conductor. The old train depot is surrounded by buildings with all sorts of neat relics. Bring a picnic and enjoy this piece of history.

If the weather is nice, then renting a boat is a super fun option. Depending on the year, Lake Sabrina and South Lake have boats for rent. Both of these lakes are accessible in the summer and fall. They are roughly a 25-minute drive from Bishop, up Highway 168. They are up at 9-10,000' elevation, so bring some warm clothes for the evenings. If you have your own, canoes, kayaks or paddle boards, they are also a great way to explore these beautiful lakes.

Bishop has a few times throughout the spring and summer to catch a rodeo. The high school rodeo circuit comes through town during the spring. The California High School Rodeo State Finals Rodeo Championships, which take place in early June, have been hosted here in Bishop for a number of years.
