Once home to a popular resort and river-boat stop, this hidden gem now offers camping, an open air shelter, pit restroom, shoreline fishing, and high water river access. This area is open to hunting September 15 - May 15.

The Cedar River offers anglers opportunities to fish for black crappie, channel catfish, freshwater drum, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, northern pike, rock bass, walleye, yellow bullhead, and shovelnose sturgeon to name a few. Benton City-Fry Recreation Area offers an open air shelter, pit restroom, river access, and a playground. This area is open to hunting September 15 - May 15 in the non-maintained portions for the property.

A lovely, quiet river campground along the Cedar River only minutes from downtown Vinton. This 46 acre area is a perfect fishing spot and place to put in kayaks or tubes to take a trip downstream to Wildcat Bluff Recreation Area. The Cedar River offers anglers opportunities to fish for black crappie, channel catfish, freshwater drum, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, northern pike, rock bass, walleye, yellow bullhead, and shovelnose sturgeon to name a few. Be sure to check out the gorgeous view of the East Bluff from the river. Hoefle-Dulin Recreation Area offers an open air shelter, pit restroom, river access, and a playground.
