The Wittliff Collections holds the production archives of the legendary Lonesome Dove TV show. Bill Wittliff was the screenwriter of Lonesome Dove and donated his materials from the show and encouraged other crew members to do the same. The exhibit showcases outfits, hats, and props used in the show. There is even a place in the exhibit where you can watch scenes from the show!

There have been several exhibits that have been added to the collections such as Southwestern Photography Collection, Mexican Photography Collection, Lonesome Dove Collection, Texas Music Collection, and much more. The Wittliff Collections can be found on the Texas State University campus on the 7th floor of Alkek Library.

The planes at the CAF Central Texas Wing are all vintage and airworthy. The historic and large “That’s All, Brother” airplane, which led the Invasion of Normandy on D-Day, calls the hangar home. The plane does travel around the world so you may want to call ahead to see if it's here for your San Marcos adventure.
