Kiwanis Park features Pella’s state-of-the-art, inclusive playground which is designed for people of all ages and abilities to play together. The largest of its kind in the area, the Wonder Spelen playground features fully accessible and sensory-friendly equipment, an interactive Sona dance and play arch, a sensory garden, a lighted shelter house with picnic tables, and two fully accessible bathrooms. Visitors can also enjoy a basketball court, community gardens, four tennis courts, and ample parking off Main St. and Orchard St.

Volksweg Trail
Pella, Iowa, United States
The 17-mile Volksweg Trail is a continually developing asphalt path. Currently, the trail connects Pella from the Pella Public Library trailhead to the Howell Station Campground. From there, the trail follows the Des Moines River and winds through the North Overlook woods. The trail continues along the north side of the lake to the Fifield Recreation Area. The trail passes through mature timbered areas, restored prairies, pine plantations, and open areas. It offers fantastic views of Lake Red Rock. Benches for resting are available along the way.
