You’ll first walk down a sloped path toward Vizcaya’s Main House. It’s hard to understand how massive it is until you see it from both the outside and inside. It took 1,000 workers to build the Vizcaya Main House between 1914 and 1922.

The Vizcaya Main House has 34 decorated rooms for you to see on the first and second floors. There are signs outside of each room detailing the rich history and thoughtful design details. As you walk outside the Vizcaya Main House, you’ll be treated to sweeping views of Biscayne Bay. You’ll also quickly notice the Stone Barge. The Barge was built in 1916 and was once used as a place to entertain guests. Visitors today are not allowed to board the Barge in an effort to help preserve it.

One of the most iconic and treasured features at Vizcaya Museum & Gardens is the Tea House. It was badly damaged in a hurricane in 2017, but has been beautifully redone. You’ll love standing under the dome and peering out to see beautiful views of Biscayne Bay. Keep an eye out for dolphins and wading birds while you’re there!
