In the province of Valladolid, in Castille-León, the castle of Peñafiel was built between the 10th and 15th centuries. This gothic-style castle today houses a wine museum. Due to its location on top of a hill and its shape, this castle is also known as “the vessel of Castille”.

Next to the town of Medina del Campo, in the province of Valladolid, the Castle of La Mota was the home of Isabella the Catholic during her final days until her passing. Later on, it became a prison for some infamous convicts, such as César Borgia, who escaped from the top of the tower using a rope.
