Hiking Half Dome is definitely a bucket list experience! You can only hike to the top of Half Dome if you’ve a permit and when the cables are up (from the end of May until the beginning of October).

Start this hike as early as possible! I started at 6:30am and it took me 12h to complete but I spent about 2h on top to admire the views.

This 16-mile, out-and-back trail is strenuous, so remember to take breaks!

This out-and back trail is 16 miles, but you’ll have to add at least an additional mile on top of that from the parking lot you left your car in. My tracker showed 20 miles because I took a longer route way back as it was gentler for the knees.
