Buttermilk Country, AKA “the Buttermilks”, is found about 13 miles west of Bishop, CA. Take Highway 168 (West Line Street) for 12 miles and take the Buttermilk Road into Buttermilk Country. They are about an hour south of Mammoth Mountain, and offer a nice break from skiing!
