Steinspark Biergarten is the first authentic German-style Beer Garden in Southwest Michigan. It was founded by Norbert Gimmler who was born in Germany and wanted to bring the same German beer garden experience to his community in Michigan.

The beers on tap rotate. A few, limited local craft beers are also available for purchase. Non alcoholic German beer is available. And since this is a family friendly environment, there are non alcoholic drinks beyond NA beers. And keeping with the German experience, all menu prices include tax and tip in it, so no need to include a tip!

Steinspark Biergarten is open seasonally when the weather is decent. During the chilly, colder months within Michigan, there are heating lamps and fire pits available to help extend the season. Like a traditional beer garden in Germany, all seating is outdoors with communal tables, which encourages socializing.

There are some covered tables to sit at should there be unexpected light rain, but Steinspark Biergarten closes with significant rain or thunderstorms. There are a variety of dining options from long tables to outdoor bistro style tables and chairs. There are also some chairs around a fire pit to sit at.

Steinspark welcomes families and dogs to enjoy their time here too! Dogs must be kept on a leash. There may also be other forms of entertainment hosted here as well like a traditional German brass band playing. Line dancing is hosted most Thursday nights. Within Steinspark there is a kitchen with a limited menu of German foods such as schnitzel, soft pretzels, hot dogs, brats, curry wurst, and spatzel. Everything is cooked from scratch! Most Wednesdays there is a “Food Truck Take Over”with 2 food trucks or vendors in the food court while the Steinspark Kitchen is closed. Otherwise, patrons are welcome to bring their own food to Steinspark as long as deliveries are not ordered in. However, no outside drinks are allowed.

There is a decent sized parking lot available with 65 spots on site. The parking lot fills up quickly between 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM, mostly on sunny weekends. Steinspark Biergarten is located off the Portage bike trail along Portage Road.
