One suggestion for you and your furry friend is to try the Thompson Creek Trail. This is about 4.4-miles out-and-back near Claremont, California. It's considered an easy route, but may take about an hour and a half or longer. It's a popular area for birding, hiking, and running, so you'll probably see people and pets while hiking. The trail is open year-round and has gorgeous views of the nearby mountains. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash. Be sure to bring plenty of water for all members of your party, especially on hot days!

The Doubletree Hotel and The Claremont Lodge are also great options to stay when visiting Claremont; however, they do not allow pets at this time. The Doubletree Hotel does have a pool as well.
