The history of the Natur- & Geopark Mëllerdall begins around 245 million years ago, in a sea. Countless particles of sand and others were deposited and solidified into rock. The sea disappeared, and rivers shaped the impressive rocky landscape of the Natur- & Geopark Mëllerdall we see today. Mullerthal is a popular hiking region in Luxembourg. Its landscape is dotted with towering sandstone rock formations and crisscrossed by the rivers that created it. Expect hiking thrills with magnificent views!

Berdorf, Echternach

The area along the nature discovery trail Wanterbaach-Siweschlëff in Berdorf is one of the most impressive landscape parts in the Luxembourg sandstone. Siweschlëff means "seven gorges" and refers to a rock labyrinth of such crevices: between the rock towers there are seven up to almost 30 cm wide and up to 20 meters deep ones. A path leads through the narrow and gloomy crevices. A special cool-humid microclimate could form inside, so that the mosses and ferns, for which the region is known, can thrive here.

The "Priedegtstull“ (the Pulpit) near the CR364 is an original rocky mountain range, whose name is given by its look. You can find it along Route 2 of the Mullerthal Trail, which also leads past the landmark of Luxembourg tourism, the Schiessentümpel - a waterfall with a small, romantic bridge. Route 2 stands for pure nature experience and adventure. Be it the rocky landscape of Berdorf, the dark Kuelscheier rock passage, the legendary Wollefsschlucht - there is a lot to discover here.
