Bannack Ghost Town is one of Montana’s best preserved Ghost Towns and stands today as a Montana State Park. This preserved site sits at one of the most prominent gold discoveries in the state - Grasshopper Gulch. It was this discovery in 1862 that drew thousands to the area in hope that they too would strike it rich. Bannack would become so significant to Montana that it was made the first territorial capital.
