Pasties are a beloved tradition in the Upper Peninsula! Local pasty shops can be found all throughout the UP. The history of pasties dates back to the 1800s when pasties were packed for the local miners’ meals. Many miners came to the UP from Cornwall, England, where the pasty originated!
