Ragged Point is called “The Gateway to Big Sur” for good reason. Here begin the views that Big Sur is famous for: tall forested mountains that cascade into the vast Pacific Ocean. Ragged Point marks the start of miles of notoriously untouched and unspoiled terrain, and it has the view to prove it.

A walk along the Moonstone Beach Boardwalk in charming Cambria affords visitors some of Highway 1’s most picturesque vistas. The one-mile ADA-accessible path travels parallel to pretty Moonstone Beach, known for its smooth “moonstones.”
