Golden Gate Bakery is well known to have the best egg tarts in SF Chinatown, and probably in all of the United States of America. However, it incredibly hard to get due to their irregular store schedule. Rumor has it they only open when their fortune teller allows them to, or else they will have a sign saying “on vacation” at their door. If you are lucky to come when they are open, you have to grab an egg tart! Crust is buttery, and filling is warm and silky. To know when they are open, the community created a facebook group to let each other know if the store is open for the day!
