The Argo Mill, Argo Tunnel, Mine Museum, and Tours operate from 10 am to 6 pm daily, seven days a week. This tours last about 1 hour and 15 minutes, which include a 20-minute gold panning lesson using real gold ore. After the demonstration, guests have the opportunity to try their luck at gold panning themselves. Online reservations are recommended for the tour and can be made at www.argomilltour.com up to two hours prior to the tour. Walk-ins for Argo Mill tours are also welcome, but it’s first-come, first-served

Construction of the Argo Tunnel (then Newhouse Tunnel) started in 1893, taking 10 years to reach Central City 4.2 miles away. It connected numerous mines, offering drainage, ventilation, and milling services, boosting industry profitability and extending the gold rush for decades. The Colorado and Southern Narrow Gauge Railroad facilitated easy transport to smelters and the United States Mint in Denver. The Argo Mill, at the tunnel's mouth, enhanced efficiencies in the region.
