Moyie Lake Provincial Park

Moyie Lake Provincial Park is 20 kilometres (12 mi) south of Cranbrook. Moyie Lake Park day use area, boat launch and 111 site campground provides the only public access to the deep blue mountain waters of Moyie Lake. This vacation friendly park features 1,300 metres (4,333 ft) of developed sandy beach backed by a large grassy area. Swimming, wind surfing, sailing, boating, wildlife and bird viewing and a variety of fishing experiences enhance Moyie Lake Park. As well, an adventure playground and hot showers are on site. Campsite reservations (only 55) are accepted and first-come, first-served sites are also available. The Park is open year round unless inaccessible due to weather conditions and the campground is open from mid-April to October.

Jimsmith Lake Provincial Park

Jimsmith Lake Provincial Park is a popular camping, swimming, picnicking and water play destination. Sunbathing, swimming, non-motorized boating and picnicking are popular activities at Jimsmith Park that are located in a day-use waterfront area. *Power boats are prohibited – car top boats or canoes only are allowed. This is the perfect setting for nature study and wildlife viewing. In winter, the park is transformed into a snowy playground for tobogganing and ice skating. The Park is open year-round and the campground is open from mid-June to September.

A quiet backroad takes you to this picturesque park nestled under the Steeples Mountain Range, a distinctive uplifting of the Canadian Rocky Mountains that punctuates the local landscape for miles around. The Park is open year round unless inaccessible due to weather conditions. Norbury Lake Provincial Park is 16 kilometres (10 mi) south from Highway #93/95 near Cranbrook offering day-use, destination and short-stay camping.

Premier Lake Provincial Park

Premier Lake is one of the key recreational fishing lakes in the Kootenay Rockies. The emerald green lakes of Premier and four smaller lakes, Canuck, Yankee, Cats Eye and Quartz offer a unique and varied fishing experiences. Smaller lakes accessible by hiking trail. The park also protects lake ecology, especially that of lake trout. Signs along Staples Creek interpret the life cycle of trout and the valued work of the Kootenay Trout Hatchery. The boat launch located at the far end of the day use area, is concrete slab with limited moorage at the floats. On the south end of the lake, there is a speed restriction and water skiing or towing is not permitted. The day use area at Premier Lake has 6 lakeside picnic tables. You can enjoy a picnic at any of the other four smaller lakes in the park but there are no picnic facilities. Located 60 kilometers (36 mi) northeast of Kimberley, south of Fairmont Hot Springs is Premier Lake Provincial Park.
