Dr. David Fairchild founded Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden. Today, it’s considered to be one of the top botanic gardens in the country! You’ll find more than 3,000 species, including native and exotic plants. This rainbow eucalyptus tree is steps away from main entrance and will take your breath away!

The Garden stretches more than 80 acres. There are about two miles of paved trails to explore as well. You can check it out on your own, take a tram tour, or a guided walking tour.

Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden is well-known for its Wings of the Tropics exhibit in The Clinton Family Conservatory. You can see hundreds of beautiful butterflies year-round. Volunteers will give you some instructions before you enter the conservatory and you’ll have to check yourself in full-length mirrors on the way out to make sure no butterflies are clinging to you.

In addition to beautiful butterflies and gardens, you’ll also find beasts at Fairchild Botanical Garden! You can check out “Dragons and Mythical Creatures” every day through September 4th. The animatronic beasts will roar and move when you’re standing nearby.

Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden is open daily from 10 am to 5 pm. You can purchase tickets when you arrive. Adults costs $24.95, seniors are $17.95, students are $15.95, children (6-17) are $11.95, and kids five and under are free.
