1. Mt. Simon
Eau Claire, WI
You’ll have to do a little bit of work to get this scenic view. The top of Mt. Simon gives you a tree-top look over Dell’s Pond and is incredibly pretty no matter the season. The climb to the summit is short but can be considered a little steep. Wear sturdy shoes and bring your camera for this one.

Putnam Park is near and dear to UW-Eau Claire. The trail runs through campus, so during the school season, you can expect this area to be pretty busy. In the summer, the trees canopy the road and create a magical, green scene. The views here are pretty special in the wintertime too.

For a unique and incredible 360-degree view of Eau Claire, visit the High Bridge. The High Bridge overlooks the Chippewa River and the paper mill. The bridge itself is pretty neat too. However, if we had to pick our favorite season at this spot, it’s autumn. The fall colors from this location are unbelievable.

A great spot to go see Eau Claire’s city skyline is the downtown Eau Claire overlook located on Earl St. There’s even a little bench that this spot for you to sit back, relax and just take it all in for a moment.

Technically River Prairie is in Altoona, WI, but we need to include them on this list because 1) the views at this park are worth it and 2) we love our neighbors. Take a leisurely stroll on the trail that runs along the Eau Claire River and enjoy the sights that nature has to offer. You even have a good chance of running into a few critters, especially birds. Look out for eagles - they’re known to fly around in this area.

The Town of Union Conservancy is one of Eau Claire’s best hidden gems. Take an easy hike here and find inner peace and serenity through the woods. You’ll stumble upon an opening in the trees where you’ll get a killer bird’s eye view of the Chippewa River.
