The Forklift Kitchen & Bar is a true hidden gem. Wedged onto the side of the fresh meat counter in a super market, this restaurant looks like a small cafe or deli, but all the food they’re putting out is made with upscale, fresh and locally sourced ingredients. This is a great restaurant to bring someone who doesn’t like eating “foodie food” to gently introduce them to the difference good ingredients make.

Named after Frida Kahlo’s home, Casa Azul (Blue House) has brought Mexican street food to Kamloops. Their menu is a literal book of the owner’s favourite hometown dishes, and staff are just as likely to ask you to dance along to the constant stream of 90’s Mexican pop music as they are to ask if you’re ready for another round of tacos.
