Appropriate Name for this Strong Gateway that Stands Across the Old Father of Rivers
Saint Francisville, Louisiana, United States
Artist John James Audubon dedicated his life to painting all of the birds in North America. He painted over a third of his famous works in his "Birds of America" series while living in West Feliciana Parish. Birds of America is now one of the most valuable series of books in the entire world. Naming this bridge after Audubon is a reminder of his love for his "happy land" in Louisiana.

Brilliant! John James Audubon Cable-Stayed Bridge
Saint Francisville, Louisiana, United States
John James Audubon would have appreciated having a bridge to cross over the Mississippi River. The first bridge built to cross the old river in Louisiana was in 1940, the Huey P. Long Bridge in Baton Rouge — 110 years after the Audubon family moved from West Feliciana.
